Künzang Gongpa Zangthal Event

October 24, 2011 to October 29th, 2011

Retreat cost for the 5 days of the Künzang Gongpa Zangthal event is $1,500. This includes all empowerments, transmissions, and three meals daily. There is limited housing available at Pema Drawa for an additional $25 per day. (Please see below.)

This is a restricted event with full- time attendance required, and samaya commitments to be designated by His Holiness Taklung Tsetrul Rinpoche. Please note that there will be a deposit required of $250 to reserve your space.

PLEASE NOTE: We regret that we are unable to accommodate early arrivals and late departures. We ask that you arrange your arrival date for no earlier than September 24th and your departure date for late October 14th. Registration will open on September 24th at noon and continue until 5 pm on September 25th. We now have a sufficient number of residents and volunteers to assist with the preparation and clean-up for the Künzang Gongpa Zangthal, and no further help is needed. Thank you.

ALSO NOTE: The exact time that the retreat will conclude, on October 14th is uncertain, so please plan to leave Ari Bhöd/Pema Drawa as late as possible, so not to miss any opportunity.


ABOUT PEMA DRAWA

We would be delighted to welcome you to our 475 wooded acres on the edge of the Sierras.  Pema Drawa is located at an altitude of 6500 feet in steep mountain terrain. It is a potent and supportive environment for practice, but conditions are rather rustic. The roads are unpaved. If you have major health conditions that might impact your ability to attend this event in its entirety, please consult your health practitioner before submitting your registration

GETTING HERE

The retreat land of Pema Drawa is in the mountains about 15 minutes from the city of Tehachapi, which is about 120 miles north of Los Angeles. You will be sent directions and the address upon registration. The closest airports are Bakersfield, Burbank and LAX. There are also train stations in Palmdale and Bakersfield, each about a 1 hour drive away. There is limited bus service into the city of Tehachapi. We will only be able to arrange rides to Pema Drawa from the city of Tehachapi, so please plan your travel accordingly.

By car: 2-hour drive from Los Angeles; 1-hour drive from Bakersfield. Carpooling is highly recommended.

We recommend posting your availability to share a ride on erideshare.com. We have created a private group page for posting rides needed/wanted for this event on the erideshare website. This specific information will be given to you once we receive this registration form.

We will have shuttles running down the mountain at intervals for pickup from the City of Tehachapi.

Further details regarding lodging, driving directions, carpool information and shuttle instructions, as well as what to bring, will be given following registration.

HOUSING

On-site lodging and camping at Pema Drawa is limited to 50 guests, for an additional $25 per night. Rooms will be shared dormitory-style, and we also have canvas tents available for 2 persons each tent. There are a few spaces for personal tents for $10 per night.
