History
The Vajrayana Buddhist practice of T’hröma is a wrathful means for cutting the ego and revealing the enlightened mind through the practice of generosity and compassion. This profound method, which includes the practice of chöd, is considered to be unsurpassed in its capacity to heal, overcome demonic afflictions, and bring about realization of the true nature of mind.
His Holiness Dudjom Jigdral Yeshe Dorje, the incarnation of Dudjom Lingpa, indicated to His Eminence Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche that the practice of T’hröma Chöd would be of great benefit those living the West, and also requested him to spread these teachings widely in the West. This drupchöd arose from Lama Chödak Gyatso Nubpa’s commitment to his precious lama, Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche to uphold the cycle of practice here in America, and has been maintained yearly for twenty years under the auspices of Lama Gyatso without interruption. His Eminence Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche led the first T’hröma retreat in 1995 in Los Angeles.
